Business Owner — Manage Your Own Profile

Who can do this?

  • The Boss · Business Owners

Overview

As Business Owner you can update your own profile from the Users section, where every user in the business — including yourself — is listed. This is also the place to change your password and (separately) review your security settings.

Who This Workflow Is For

The Business Owner managing their own profile. To update someone else’s profile or change their role, see Edit a user or change a role.

Before You Start

  • Have any updated details ready (new phone, new email, new address).
  • If you are changing your email, you will need access to the new inbox to verify the change before you can log in again.
  • MFA changes are managed in the Security tab (see Set up MFA).

Step-by-Step Process

Open your own user record

  1. In the left sidebar, under ADMIN, select Users.
  2. Find your own user record in the user list.
  3. Select Edit next to your record.

Update profile fields

  1. Update any of the editable fields:
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Username
    • Email
    • Phone
    • Address
  2. (Optional) Use the Change password option to set a new password.
  3. Select Save (or the equivalent confirmation button).

If you changed your email

  1. Open the verification email sent to the new address.
  2. Verify the new address. You must verify before you can log in with the new email.

Security / MFA changes (separate)

  1. To update MFA methods, open the Security tab — see Set up MFA and Recover access after MFA device loss.

Key Business Rules

  • Editable fields are confirmed. First name, last name, username, email, phone, role, and address.
  • Role. Your own role is Business Owner — the most senior role in your business. A business can have more than one Business Owner. To change your own role, another Business Owner must update it via the Users page.
  • Email change verification. The new email must be verified before login.
  • Security tab. MFA add / rename / remove is performed in the Security tab, not the profile edit form.
  • Shorter MFA recency window. As a privileged role, you are asked to re-verify MFA more often than non-privileged roles. This is by design.
  • Set up MFA (Business Owner role guide)
  • Recover access after MFA device loss (Business Owner role guide)
  • Edit a user or change a role (Business Owner role guide)
  • Managing Users, Roles, and Seats (Feature Write-Up 26)
