Overview
Move a quote to Client Accepted so you can convert it into a job. MyApprentice supports three acceptance pathways. Two of the three are automatic — the third is a manual record for phone or in-person agreements.
Before you start
The quote must already be in Sent status. Pathways 1 and 2 below require no action from you — the status moves to Client Accepted automatically.
Steps
Pathway 1 — Portal acceptance (Client Portal ON)
- The client opens the quote email link, reviews the quote in the portal, and selects Accept Quote.
- The status moves to Client Accepted automatically. No action is required from you.
Pathway 2 — Email reply acceptance (always available)
- The client receives a copy of the quote by email regardless of whether the Client Portal is on or off.
- If the client replies with wording such as “I accept”, MyApprentice auto-detects the reply and moves the quote to Client Accepted automatically. No action is required from you. This pathway is available alongside the portal — clients can accept either way.
Pathway 3 — Manual acceptance (phone, in-person, or non-matching email reply)
- Open Quotes / Invoices from the sidebar and find the quote.
- Open the three-dot action menu next to the quote amount and select Accept.
- Confirm the acceptance.
What happens next
The quote moves to Client Accepted. From here you can use Accept & Create Job — see Turn an Accepted Quote into a Job.
Note: MyApprentice does not have a “quote rejected” status. The Client Portal may show Not accepted for a quote a client has declined.
