Overview
Every quote, job, and invoice is tied to a client record. Add a client up front from the Client Library, or create one inline when you start a quote for a customer who does not exist yet.
Who This Workflow Is For
The Sole Trader role.
Before You Start
Have the client’s details — name, contact name, email, phone, address.
Step-by-Step Process
- In the left sidebar, select Clients. The Client Library opens.
- Select Add Client.
- Fill in the client fields:
- Client name / business name (required).
- Contact name (optional).
- Email address (recommended).
- Phone number (recommended).
- Address (recommended).
- Additional notes (optional).
- Select Save.
Inline client creation while quoting
- Start a new quote and type a name MyApprentice does not recognise.
- Enter the client’s email, phone, and site address on the quote form.
- Build and send the quote — the inline-created client becomes a permanent record once the quote is sent.
What Happens Next
The client is available for quotes, jobs, invoices, and scheduling. From here:
- Create and send a quote.
- Review and edit a client to update details later.
- Message a client.
Common Issues
- Duplicate client. Search the Client Library by name, email, phone, or address before creating.
- Inline client missing. Inline-created clients only become permanent records once the quote is sent.
- Wrong details on a sent quote. Edit the client record, then edit and resend the quote.
