Overview
The Account tab in Business Settings is where you manage your own account, including the option to delete your own account. The Users area is also available for editing your profile detail (name, contact details, password).
Who This Workflow Is For
This workflow applies to Apprentice, Sole Trader, and Tradie.
Before You Start
Have the details ready — new phone, new address, or your current password if you are setting a new one.
Step-by-Step Process
Edit your own profile
- In the left sidebar, select Users (or open your profile from the gear icon).
- Select Edit on your own record.
- Update the fields:
- First name and Last name — keep these accurate so paperwork is correct.
- Phone — keep this current.
- Address — keep this current for records.
- Password — set a new password if needed. If your account is signed in via Google / Microsoft / Apple, the password is managed by that provider, not MyApprentice.
- Save the changes.
Set up MFA on your account
See Set up MFA (if you have not already).
Delete your own account
- In the left sidebar under ADMIN, select Business Settings.
- Open the Account tab.
- Select the option to delete your own account. Confirm the action.
- Access continues until the end of the current billing period (where you have a paid plan); the account is then closed.
What Happens Next
Profile updates flow into new paperwork. Password changes may require you to sign in again on other devices. Account deletion is an irreversible action — the Business Owner equivalent of closing the business in MyApprentice.
Common Issues
- Forgot password. Use Forgot password on the login screen.
- Cannot sign in after password change. Make sure you used the new password. If still stuck, use Forgot password.
- OAuth-managed account. Password is managed by the provider, not in MyApprentice.
