Who can do this?
Overview
If you would rather not manage a separate MyApprentice password, you can register for a new account using your existing Google, Microsoft, or Apple credentials. The platform calls this OAuth sign-in. Once you have registered with a provider, you log in the same way every time.
Who uses this feature
Anyone creating a new MyApprentice account, and existing users who want to link a Google, Microsoft, or Apple provider to their account. OAuth is available at both sign-up and on the returning-user sign-in page.
When to use this feature
- You are a new user setting up an account and prefer to use Google, Microsoft, or Apple instead of an email-and-password combination.
- Your business is on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 and you want a consistent sign-in experience.
What you can do with this feature
- Register with Google, Microsoft, or Apple.
- Sign in afterwards using the same provider you registered with.
How the feature works
- Open app.myapprentice.dev.
- On the sign-up page, select Continue with Google, Continue with Microsoft, or Continue with Apple.
- Authenticate with the chosen provider (account selection, password, Face ID, or Touch ID as appropriate).
- Grant the provider permission to share your sign-in with MyApprentice.
- You are returned to MyApprentice and your account is created.
Role-specific notes
The OAuth option is presented during sign-up. The role you take inside MyApprentice — Business Owner, Sole Trader, Supervisor, Finance, Tradie, or Apprentice — is set separately when your business invites you or when you register the business.

Important notes
- OAuth is available on the sign-up page and on the returning-user sign-in page. An existing email-and-password account can also link a Google, Microsoft, or Apple provider after registration.
- The email address on your Google, Microsoft, or Apple account must match the email registered to your MyApprentice account.
- Your password is managed by the OAuth provider (Google, Microsoft, or Apple), not by MyApprentice.
