What This Feature Does

The Employee Dashboard directs Tradies and Apprentices to the work assigned to them. It is a simple, work-focused view that surfaces upcoming shifts, daily tasks, hours worked, and any attention items linked to the employee’s own work.

This dashboard is intentionally not a business-health view. It does not show revenue, quote value, invoice value, ready-to-book work, or business-wide management actions unless the user’s role specifically permits access.

Who Uses This Feature

Tradies and Apprentices. Supervisors and Business Owners see a different dashboard with team-wide and business-wide attention items.

When To Use It

  • At the start of the day, to find your assigned shifts and tasks.
  • During the day, to confirm site details or open a shift card.
  • To check how many hours you have already recorded for the current week.
  • To clear overdue or action-required items.

How It Works

What you see on the Employee Dashboard

Dashboard areaPurpose
Hours This WeekTracked hours from your timesheet entries for the current week.
Remaining Tasks Due TodayIncomplete shift and job checklist items due today.
Operations ScheduleYour assigned schedule across the selected Day, Week, or Month view.
JobsScheduled jobs available to you (Tradies — view-only job card; Apprentice access depends on permissions).
Schedule StreamAssigned shifts grouped by date with time, status, and location where available.
Needs Your AttentionOverdue shifts or required actions linked to your assigned work.
Notification badgeActive notifications requiring review.
Quick ActionsPersonal shortcut tiles configurable from the gear icon. Tiles open the relevant page; not all roles can complete every action, so some tiles surface a restriction message when opened.
SearchFind a page or record.

Tradie behaviour

Question the Tradie might askWhere the dashboard answers it
What work am I assigned to?Operations Schedule and Schedule Stream.
What job is this work linked to?Jobs panel and View Job.
What time is the shift?Schedule Stream shift card.
Is anything overdue?Needs Your Attention and the red overdue shift status.
How many hours have I recorded?Hours This Week.
What tasks are due today?Remaining Tasks Due Today.

Apprentice behaviour

The Apprentice Dashboard uses the same layout but with a more restricted action set based on Apprentice permissions. The Apprentice is directed to assigned shifts, overdue shift actions, hours recorded, and remaining tasks. Management-level actions and broader client / job-financial information are not visible.

Clearing an attention item

Open the related shift or job from the attention card, complete the required action (clock in, mark a to-do done, mark the shift complete, etc.), and the related attention item should clear once the underlying issue is resolved.

  • View Your Assigned Shifts (Quick Start 26)
  • Clock In and Out of a Shift (Quick Start 27)
  • Doing the Work on Your Shift (Feature Write-Up 17)
  • Role-Based Permissions Reference (Feature Write-Up 28)

Notes and Limitations

  • Financial information (quote value, invoice value, revenue), client-sharing controls, and business-wide management actions are not visible to Tradies or Apprentices unless explicitly allowed by role-based permissions.
  • The Apprentice action set is intentionally narrower than the Tradie action set.
