- Learning the Ropes · Apprentices
- The Boss · Business Owners
- One-Person Show · Sole Traders
- The Foreman · Supervisors
- On the Tools · Tradies
Overview
At the end of the week, submit your timesheet so your Supervisor or Business Owner can approve it for payroll. The timesheet is built from your clock-ins and clock-outs plus any manual entries you added. Submitting locks the week from further edits until it is approved (or unapproved by your Supervisor).
Who This Workflow Is For
The Tradie role. Apprentices submit their own timesheets the same way. Supervisors and Business Owners also submit their own timesheets when they have worked field shifts.
Before You Start
Review the week’s entries first — make sure everything is on the timesheet and the job allocations look right. Add any manual entries needed — see Create a manual timesheet entry.
Step-by-Step Process
- In the left sidebar, select Timesheets.
- Open the week you want to submit.
- Review the entries day by day:
- Date and start/end times (or hours, depending on the entry mode set by your Business Owner).
- Job allocation — each entry should be against the right job.
- Travel vs work time where the entry type is shown.
- Notes if you added any.
- Add any missing entries via Add entry or Manual entry — see Create a manual timesheet entry.
- Select Submit Week (or the equivalent button on your build).
- Confirm the submission. The week’s entries are now in Submitted status, ready for your Supervisor to approve.
What Happens Next
Your Supervisor, Business Owner, or Admin reviews and approves the timesheet — see Supervisor’s Review submitted timesheets workflow. Once approved, the timesheet is payroll-ready. The Business Owner, Supervisor, or Finance runs payroll export.
If the Supervisor spots a problem, they will unapprove the week (no in-app reject action) and ask you to correct. Make the change and resubmit.
Common Issues
- Missing time. Add the missing time via Manual entry — see Create a manual timesheet entry.
- Cannot submit. Confirm there are entries on the week. A week with no entries cannot be submitted.
- Wrong job allocation. Edit the entry on the day, fix the job, save, then submit.
- Supervisor unapproved the week. Open the unapproved week, make the correction the Supervisor asked for, and resubmit.
- Cannot edit a submitted week. Submitted weeks lock pending approval. Ask your Supervisor to Unapprove so you can edit.
