Overview
When you sign in each day, the dashboard’s Needs Your Attention card shows the items you should action — unassigned shifts, overdue schedules, jobs ready for invoicing, submitted timesheets awaiting approval, accepted quotes not yet converted. As a Supervisor your list is scoped to operational items in your scope. Work through it at the start of every shift to keep the team unblocked.
Who This Workflow Is For
The Supervisor role. The Business Owner and Admin see a wider attention list across the business. Finance sees a finance-scoped list. Tradie and Apprentice see their own pending actions.
Before You Start
You need to be signed in. Items deep-link to the underlying record, so it helps to have a few minutes to action items as you go.
Step-by-Step Process
- Open MyApprentice. The Dashboard is your home screen.
- Scroll to the Needs Your Attention card.
- Typical items for a Supervisor:
- Unassigned shifts flagged as Needs Worker.
- Overdue schedules — shifts that have passed without being completed.
- Submitted timesheets awaiting approval.
- Jobs marked Ready to be invoiced — finalise the job or hand to the invoicing role.
- Accepted quotes not yet converted to a job.
- New enquiries from the public enquiry form.
- Select an item to action:
- Some rows open a pop-up so you complete the action in place (assigning a shift, approving a timesheet).
- Other rows redirect to the relevant page (the accepted quote, the job card, the schedule board).
- Use pagination if there are more than five items.
What Happens Next
Each action you take drops the row off the list. Items that need another role (a Business Owner finalising payroll, a Finance user marking an invoice paid) stay on their queue. The card refreshes as items are completed.
From here you usually:
Common Issues
- Item is waiting on another role. Some items (Business-Owner-only actions such as delete an invoice, or Finance-only actions such as payroll export) stay with their owner.
- Too many items at once. Use pagination — items are ordered by severity. Work top to bottom.
- Item won’t go away. Action the row, then refresh. Open the underlying record and confirm its status.
