Try the whole thing before you give us anything
No sign-up. No email address. No card. The demo builds you a real workspace with jobs, clients, quotes and invoices already in it for your trade, and lets you use the actual product — not a video, not a guided tour with a salesperson on the other end.
How it works
Four steps and about ten seconds:
- Open the demo. The link's on every page of this site, including the bar at the top.
- Pick your trade. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, building, landscaping — the sample data changes to match.
- Say roughly how many people are in the business. A sole trader gets a sole trader's workspace; a crew of eight gets a dispatch board with people on it.
- Start. You land in a working business with jobs on the schedule and quotes in progress.
Nothing you do in there touches a real customer. Break it, delete things, push the buttons you'd never push on a live job.
The five things worth doing first
- Build a quote. Start typing a line item and watch it autocomplete with a price. Add materials. GST works itself out. More on quoting
- Accept it as the customer. Open the client portal view and accept the quote — it becomes a job on its own. More on the client portal
- Put it on the schedule. Drag it onto a day, assign someone, add the site notes. More on scheduling
- Finish the job and invoice it. Complete it, raise the invoice, mark it paid. More on invoicing
- Turn something off. Open the feature switches and switch off a whole area you'd never use. The app gets simpler. The price doesn't change. More on pricing
What the demo can't do
It's the real product with a fence around it, so a few things are deliberately inert. It won't send real emails to anyone, it won't take a real card payment, and it won't connect to your Xero. Everything else behaves exactly as it does in a live account, including working with no signal.
When you're ready for a real one
The demo workspace is a sandbox — it doesn't carry across, and you wouldn't want it to, because it's full of made-up jobs. Starting a real account is its own thing: your business details, your logo, your clients, your price list. Your first two months are free, there's no card needed to start, and there's no lock-in if you decide it's not for you.
If you'd rather ask a person first, email us — it's the two of us in Perth.
Demo questions
Do I need to sign up to try My Apprentice?
No. The demo needs no account, no email address and no card. You pick your trade and your rough team size, and it builds you a workspace with sample data.
Is the demo the real product?
Yes. It's the same application with sample data, not a mock-up or a screenshot tour. Sending real email, taking real card payments and connecting Xero are switched off.
Does anything I do in the demo carry over to a real account?
No. The demo is a sandbox full of sample jobs. When you start a real account you start clean with your own business details, clients and price list.
How long do I get?
As long as you like. There's no timer on the demo and nobody will ring you about it.
